Mystery Photo




I've had a copy of this picture in my possession for many years. I believe he is related to Mary Ellen Laney Henkey. I always thought it was L. S. Spriggs, Mary Ellen's grandfather. Then the mustache made me think it could be E. P. Laney, Mary Ellen's father. He was from Kansas and once referred to as a cowboy. For all I know, it could be some famous stage actor from back then. If anyone knows, please tell me.



Update: This picture was recently added to Ancestry.com under the name of Charles E. Spriggs. Charles was the brother of Nellie Spriggs, so this would be the uncle of Mary Ellen Laney. November 13, 2018

    Dunno whom that is, Aunt D but I <3 the picture! And I <3 that we have ancestors that looked like this. Like you'd said, her looks like a famous stage actor.
